The Gamekeeper Restaurant
Fine Dining With An Incredible View
The Gamekeeper offers modern mountain cuisine in an
elegantly rustic setting featuring in-house smoked meats, wild game, fish and vegetables prepared over a wood-fired grill.
Most food is indigenous to the area and only the freshest offerings from local farmers, cheese makers and mushroom growers are used. The presentation is clean and uncomplicated. Everything is prepared from scratch. Our menu selections change daily.
The proprietors, Ken and Wendy Gordon, both attended ASU and then worked for Nobles Restaurant Group for eight years. In that time Ken worked his way up to sous chef and head chef. Since returning to the area Ken has been Chef de Cuisine at Linville Ridge Country Club and Executive Chef at Roaring Gap Club. Wendy has served as a line cook for the past few years and owned her own freelance photography business. The Gamekeeper is the culmination of their love of southern cooking.
The Gamekeeper restaurant is a destination unto itself. Located in a stone house built in the 1920s, it features an old bar (taken from an English pub), outdoor dining, a large stone fireplace (in the main dining room), and majestic mountain views. The view alone is worth the trip.
Other features include:
- a cozy bar area with all ABC permits
- outdoor seating
- private party rooms
- catering menu
- wedding rehearsal dinners, receptions
- recommendations by Southern Living Magazine and Blue Ridge Country Magazine
The Gamekeeper is open November-April on weekends and May-October seven days a week.
